West Q Elementary/PS 437 is a new District 24 public school in Woodside, Queens, opening in September 2026.

We’re currently enrolling 3K, Pre-K, and Kindergarten for fall 2026, and because we are a non-zoned school, all families from across NYC can apply.

Our approach is balanced. Children build strong foundations in reading, writing, and math, and use those skills every day through project-based learning, conversation, and problem-solving. Along the way, they have regular opportunities to explore STEM, the arts, and movement, supporting the development of the whole child.

As we prepare for our first year, we’re being thoughtful about what school should feel like from the very beginning - how children settle in, build confidence, and come to see themselves as learners.
